Raids on APCPDCL SE yield Rs 4.88 cr in assets Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): The Anti Corruption Bureau Officials on Friday registered a case of disproportionate assets against Devarakonda Prabhakar, Superintending Engineer, Operation Central Circle, APCPDCL, Hyderabad and conducted simultaneous searches at different places covering his office, residence at Hyderabad and unearthed movable and immovable assets worth about Rs 4.88 crore. The immovable assets include six houses and two plots at Hyderabad and 9.35 acres agricultural land at Ganapavaram Village of Guntur District. The value of these immovable properties is Rs 2,82,50,000.
The searches also unearthed furniture and equipment in Nursing Home of wife of the SE to the tune of Rs 1.20 Crore, Cash of Rs 79,000, gold ornaments weighing about 608 grams worth about Rs 3 lakh, one Wegan-R worth Rs. 6,50,000, one Hundai Accent Car worth Rs 3,80,000, Seven Innova Cars worth Rs 63 lakh, one Scooter and one Motor Cycle worth about Rs 30,000 and house hold articles at his residence worth about Rs 9 lakh and movable properties to the tune of Rs 2,06,39,000/-. The total recorded value of movable and immovable assets possessed by the SE is Rs 4,88,89,000. The market value of these assets would be more than Rs 10 Crores. The SE was arrested.
Employment superintendent held for graft
Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): The Anti Corruption Bureau Officials on Thursday caught red-handed G Venkata Ramana, office Superintendent, Regional Deputy Director, Employment and training, Tirupati when he was accepting the bribe amount of Rs 2,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour of issuance of duplicate ITI certificate of the complainant through Ch Mani, Sweeper of same office in the office premises. Mani received the bribe amount from the complainant at the instance of Venkata Ramana. AO1 and AO2 were arrested and being produced before Special Court for ACB Cases, Nellore for judicial custody.
Parents' quarrels drive student to suicide
Hyderabad 3 Dec (INN): Frequent quarreling between her parents is believed to have driven an Intermediate student to suicide under Nallakunta police station limits on late on Thursday night. According to the Inspector P Murali Krishna victim, B Rajitha was an Intermediate student and daughter of B Ravi, a resident of Nallakunta. Rajitha had taken the extreme step after being driven to a state of mental exhaustion due to the frequent quarrels between her parents. The quarrels have become intense in the last few days due to a financial crunch. Rajitha used her dupatta to hang herself from a ceiling fan in her room. Nallakunta police registered a case under section 174 CRPC
Train mows labourer down
Hyderabad 3 Dec (INN): A 48-year-old man was mowed down by a speeding train while crossing the railway track under Secunderabad Railway Police Station Limits. According to the Railway Sub-Inspector Mohammed Khader Shareef, victim S Balakrishna was a labourer and a resident of Kapra, in Ranga Reddy district. On Thursday night, Balakrishna after complete his work, was returning home when the mishap took place. He was crossing the Moula Ali railway track, when the unidentified train hit him. He died on the spot. Secunderabad Railway Police Registered a case under section 174 CRPC. His body was handed over to his family after autopsy.
Man dies in domestic fire mishap
Hyderabad 3 Dec (INN): A man was burnt to death while cooking on a kerosene stove under the Musheerabad Police station limits on Thursday night. According to the Sub Inspector P Shankar Yadav, victim Mohammed Basheeruddin (60), a labourer, and a resident of Indiranagar in Bholakpur, Musheerabad was cooking at his residence when his clothes caught fire. He suffered serious serious burn injuries. He was rushed to the Gandhi Hospital for treatment. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Musheerabad police registered a case under section 174 CRPC
