Health Expo: Alternative medicines find many takers Hyderabad, Dec 6 (INN): High Court Judge Justice Chandraiah on Monday inaugurated the three-day Health Expo-2010 at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam in Srinagar Colony in the city. The Health Expo aims to create an opportunity for those who suffer from chronic and 'incurable' diseases, to find relief from their ailments. Delivering his inaugural speech, Justice Chandraiah spoke at length on four aspects of life and asked the attendees to dwell on the most important aspect of life which is life itself.
He said that the two important institutions in the society 'Health care and justice institution' should be always taken forward service motto. Justice Chandraiah said that According to Indian Constitution, the Right to Health is every individual's fundamental right. He also expressed his happiness to be present on the event of new dimension in health care industry where all traditional therapies are brought under one roof.
The first lecture aimed at educating the people to alternate methods of treatment was on the topic of Obesity. Dr Mohan Selvan (MBBS and Sujok Therapist) from Chennai, Dr Jasmin Modi (Sujok Therapist) from Mumbai and Dr Jaya Krishna (Ayurveda Therapy) told the gathering that how these traditional therapies provided a permanent and effective treatment for obesity.
The second lecture was on Diabetes in which Dr Mohan Selvan (MBS and Sujok Therapist), Dr Satya Prasad, Professor in Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad, Dr Pravin Kumar Saxena, (MBBS, DMRD, Environmental Medicine) enlightened the audience on how to control the dreaded disease. The third lecture was on Cardio Vascular Disorders in which Dr Praveen Kumar (Professor in Homeopathic College, Ramanthapur), Dr Praveen Kapadia (Yoga Teacher, Gandhi Gyan Mandir, Koti), Dr Jignesh Gokani (Sujok Therapist) and Dr Praveen Kumar Saxena (MBBS, DMRD, Environmental Medicine) spoke. These Lectures were attended by general public and students of different therapies.
The Expo also has 30 stalls from various disciplines like Ayurvedic products, Homoeo products, Food supplements, Meditation Centers, Health promoting products. Tuesday will see lectures on Respiratory Disorders (9.30 AM to 12.00 PM), Digestive System Disorders (2.00 PM to 4.30 PM), Thyroid Disorders (5.00 PM to 730 P.M) being delivered.
