Drunkard burn his wife to death Hyderabad 8 Dec (INN): A 30-year-old woman was burnt to death after her husband doused petrol on her and set her on fire under the Kazipet police station limits. According to the Kazipet police, victim Ghousia Begum, a resident of Railway Quarters, Kazipet had entered into a spat with her husband Gopal Bahadur. She took objection to his coming home drunk every day. The fight between the private employee and his wife grew too intense on Saturday. Gopal came out of his house and took a bottle of petrol from the dickey of his scooter. He went inside and poured the petrol on his wife and set her on fire. She was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad for treatment. She died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday night. Kazipet police registered a case under section 302 IPC.
Minor Irrigation CE raided, Rs 2.5 cr assets unearthed
Hyderabad, Dec 8 (INN):The Anti Corruption Bureau officials registered a case of disproportionate assets against B Vittal, Asst.Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Hyderabad and conducted simultaneous searches at different places covering his office, residence at Bowenpally, Secunderabad and unearthed movable and immovable assets possessed to the tune of Rs 1.15 Crore. The immovable assets include one G Plus 3 house at Bowenpally, two flats (one at Baghlingampally & one at Moosapet, Hyderabad), Four house plots near Ghatkesar, Hyderabad, 3 acres of agricultural land at Kandukur, Maheshwaram Mandal, R.R. District, 11.14 acres of agricultural land in Medak District. The basic official value of these immovable properties is to the tune of Rs. 91,00,000. The searches also unearthed household articles to the tune of Rs. 5,26,000, cash of Rs. 44,000, gold ornaments weighing about 300 grams worth about Rs 3,00,000, one Tata Indica worth about Rs. 4,00,000, three Motor cycle (one Honda Activa, one Hero Honda Passion & one Hero Honda Hunk) worth about Rs. 1,36,000 and Bank balances of Rs. 8,16,000 movable properties to the tune of Rs. 22,22,000/-. The total recorded value of movable and immovable assets possessed by the AO is about Rs 1,13,22,000. The market value of these assets would be more than Rs. 2.50 Crore. The accused will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
