Security at GHMC head office to be enhanced Hyderabad, Dec 9 (INN): Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy will soon write to the Commissioner of Police, requesting him to strengthen the security in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Head Office. The decision to seek additional security was taken after a review meeting held at the Head Office, following the mock General Council Meeting staged by the TDP on Wednesday, according to sources. Following the review meeting, Additional Commissioner (Vigilance) stated that, at present 16 Special Protection Force and about 45 private security personals were guarding the Head Office in three shifts and in one general shift, besides the 4 to 5 Home Guards attached to the demolishing squad.
The review meeting suggested that Ms Karthika Reddy should ask for the filling up of vacant posts of SP and 2 Sub-Inspectors and a team of Andhra Pradesh Special Police personnel. The meeting also suggested that necessary passes be issued to all the vehicles of GHMC for easy identification for security measures. Further, no private vehicle would be allowed inside the GHMC Head Office and the visitors will have to park their vehicle outside and should enter the office duly obtaining passes. Additional Commissioner (IT) would be in charge of monitoring the system at both the gates.
All the GHMC staff members and Officers must show their identity cards to the Security personnel before entering the office. The existing Security system at Secretariat would be implemented in GHMC Head Office soon said the Mayor. GHMC Commissioner Sameer Sharma, Additional Commissioner, (Vigilance), Circle Inspector, (Vigilance) and other senior Security officials of GHMC attended the meeting.
