Girijan products in AP Bhavan Hyderabad, Dec 21 (INN): The state government is planning to set up a branch of Girijan Cooperative Corporation in AP Bhavan in New Delhi to promote the sales of the products developed by the Girijans in Andhra Pradesh. Tribal Welfare Minister Pasupuleti Balaraju told waiting media persons at the Secretariat on Tuesday that the government was studying various avenues for increasing the sales of the Girijan products.
Mr Balaraju said that the products were received well from people across the country and from abroad, since they were of high quality. He also said that the Girijan community was maintaining the quality of the product. The Minister revealed that he had written a letter to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday to seek permission from the Central government to set up a sales counter in AP Bhavan in New Delhi. The idea was to popularise the products of Girijan Cooperative Society, he said.
