TDP cadre picket Collectorates across state Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): Protesting the state government's adamant attitude in addressing the farmers issue, the Telugu Desam Party rank and cadre, in association with Left parties on Wednesday picketed the District Collectorates across the state. The activists raised slogans against the government and tried to barge into District Collectorates in an attempt to paralyse the administration. However, the police foiled their attempts and resorted to lathicharge and arrested a few activists.
The activists condemned the state government for not responding properly to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's hunger fast, which entered sixth-day on Wednesday demanding better financial package. In Hyderabad, TDP senior leader T Devender Goud picketed the Collector's office accompanied by thousands of activists and paralysed the administration.
In Anantapur, TDP MLA Paritala Sunitha was injured in police lathicgharge. In Warangal district, the activists stoned the RTC buses as part of agitation. In Nizamabad the activists ransacked the DRDA office and damaged the furniture and files. In Ongole, the police arrested former minister Kodela Shiva Prasad for picketing the Collectors office. They activists demanded that the government make efforts for addressing farmers' problems.
