Christmas celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety Hyderabad, Dec 25 (INN): Christmas was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the state on Saturday with Churches of all denominations being beautifully decorated for the occasion. Christians could be seen making their way to Churches of different denominations right from Friday midnight to offer special prayers. The largest such gathering was reported from the world famous Church of South India in Medak were the faithful attended early morning Mass. Rt Rev T S Kanaka Prasad led the mass at the CSI.
Christians in the city too thronged the churches right from the morning itself. Singing carols, the joyous mood was very much prevalent as they exchanged greetings with each other as well as from the many foreign tourists who were present in the city.
Reports of special prayers being offered at the Centenary Baptist Church in Hanamkonda, Fathima Church in Kazipet and Roman Catholic churches at Subedari and Kazipet have also come in. Special prayers were conducted at Rockwood Church, Gipson Church, ABM, Holy Faith and Cole's Centennial Church in Kurnool district. Reports of Christmas being celebrated are coming in from all over the state, including Ranga Reddy, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak districts. People from all the communities in the state also extended their warm greeting to their Christian brethren.
