Six of family die in road mishap Mahabubnagar, Dec 28 (INN): In a major road accident, at least six members of a family were killed and three others suffered grievous injuries in a major road accident which took place near Borapalli village Manopad mandal in the district, in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. According to Sub-Inspector G Ramakrishna, the mishap occurred when a speeding Volvo Bus smashed into a Tata Sumo in which victims were travelling. The impact left five of the passengers dead on the spot and four other with serious injuries. The victims were soon shifted to Kurnool General Hospital for treatment where one among the four succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Mr Ramakrishna has further revealed that victims, who succumbed on the spot, were identified as Sameena Begum (37), Parveen Begum (19), Mohammed Abdul Basheer (23), Farhan (5) and Farzana (9 month). The Tata Sumo driver Yunus (24) died in hospital while undergoing treatment. The injured persons were identified as Fareed, Shafi and Nisar, who were presently undergoing treatment in KGH. They are declared to out of danger. All the victims are believed to have been residents of Gadwal. Police have registered a case under section 304-A IPC against the bus driver and took up further investigations.
