Harassment by husband led wife to end life Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): Unable to bear harassment from her husband, a woman committed suicide by pouring kerosene and setting herself ablaze under Alwal police station limits late on Tuesday. According to Sub-Inspector K Lakshman, the victim has been identified as D Swaroopa (36), a resident of Balaji Nagar in CPI colony. She married Ramgopal Chary seven years ago and was blessed with two children. Since their marriage, Ramgopal used to consume alcohol daily and argue with his wife over petty issue. He also used to regularly beat her up. Unable to bear the continued harassment, on Monday, Swaroopa ended her life by pouring kerosene and setting herself ablaze. She died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi hospital on Tuesday night. A case has been registered Under Section 498 (A) IPC against her husband.
Couple dies as wife attempts suicide
West Godavari, Dec 29 (INN): T Narasapuram police on Wednesday retrieved the bodies of a couple from a lake in a highly decomposed stage after the wife had committed suicide and the husband had jumped in to save her. According to Sub-Inspector Hanmanth Rao, Kothava Sitaamma (25) had jumped into the lake to kill herself after a spat with her husband, Kothava Paparao (20). The spat erupted due to the financial problems faced by them. Paparao is believed to have jumped in the lake to save his wife but was drowned too. They were residents of Singarayeepalem in T Narasapuram mandal. Mr Hanmanth Rao said that the incident came to light when eyewitnesses had reported the incident to the police who then launched efforts to retrieve the bodies. A case has been registered.
Drunkard kills self after spat with wife
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): A habitual drunkard committed suicide after a spat with his wife under the Kukatpally police station limits. According to police, the victim has been identified as T Prashanth (29), a resident of Papireddynagar in Kukatpally. On Tuesday evening, he came home after consuming alcohol and had a spat with his wife over petty issue. Later, he ended his life by hanging himself from an iron rod at his residence. Police shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.
Man dies as bikes collide
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): An employee, who sustained injuries in a road accident, died in hospital while undergoing treatment, under the Kacheguda police station limits late on Tuesday night. According to police, the victim has been identified as V Linga Prasad (21), a resident of Bapunagar in Amberpet. Prasad met with a road accident on December 21, when his motor cycle has collided with another motor cycle. He was soon rushed to Osmania General Hospital where he died on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment. A case has been registered under Section 304 (A) IPC.
Wall collapse kills labourer
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): A labourer was killed on the spot when a wall collapsed on him under the Raidurgam police station limits. According to Sub-Inspector Narasimha Chary, the victim has been identified as M Narasimha (20), a resident of Rajivnagar in Gachchibowli. On Tuesday evening, the victim was working in a private company where a wall collapsed and fallen on him. A case has been registered under Section 304 (A) IPC for negligence of the contractor.
