Family dies in suicide pact Chittoor, Dec 30 (INN): Four members of a family committed suicide in a private lodge at Tirupati in Chittoor district, on Thursday morning. According to West Inspector Ravi Mohanchary, the victims were identified as Kumaraswamy (33), his wife Usha (28), Nikitha (11) and Ramya (8), who were residents of Bangarupalem in Chittoor district. On getting information police reached the spot and broke into the room. It was discovered that the children were given poison mixed with mango juice while the husband and wife hand hanged themselves from the fan with the help of saree. Soon the victims were shifted to hospital for autopsy and information passed to their relatives. A case has been registered.
Car knocks down MBA student
Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): An MBA student died when a car knocked his motorcycle at Pragathinagar main road under the KPHB police station limits on Wednesday night. According to sub inspector Sreerangam, the victim has been identified as P Kiran (27) a native of Vijayawada. He died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi hospital. Police registered a case under Section 304A IPC.
Bank manager dies in road mishap
Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): A bank manager died in road accident under the Langer house police station limits. According to sub inspector Santosh Kumar, the victim has been identified as Ramarao (53), a branch manager in private bank and a resident of Bandlaguda. Santoshkumar sustained grievous injuries on Wednesday night when a car hit his motorcycle near Langar Houz flyover. He died at Osmania hospital while undergoing treatment on Wednesday night. Langer Houz police registered a case under section 304A IPC.
RTC bus stolen from Imlibun, abandoned at Narsapur
Hyderabad, 30 Dec (INN): An RTC bus, which was stolen from MGBS Depot early on Thursday morning under the Afzalgunj police station limits, was found abandoned at Narsapur in Medak district. According to Inspector B Anand, the RTC express bus belonged to Bhadrachalam depot. It was parked at the MG Bus station from where it went missing. The bus driver Ramamurthy had lodged a complaint in this connection at Afzalgunj police station. The police sent an alert radio message and found the bus at Narsapur in Medak district.
ACB raids DEE PR dept
Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): The Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths conducted raids on the residence of Deputy Executive Engineer, Panchayath Raj Department in Parigi and unearthed property worth Rs 1.32 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income. According to ACB officials, the simultaneous raids were conducted on the residence of DEE Thandra Rajender Reddy and his relatives residences at Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad following a definite information that he amassed wealth illegally.
The officials recovered assets include 23 plots near BDL Factory, 3 Houses, 7.21 acres of Agricultural land near BDL Factory, three cars, one tractor, motor cycle, 679 grams of gold worth Rs 4,28,000, net cash of Rs 95,000, LIC Insurance premium worth Rs 1,50,000, bank balance of Rs 75,000 and household articles worth Rs 5,76,590. The officials arrested Rajender Reddy and will be produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
ACB raids AD IPM
Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): The Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths conducted raids on the residence of Assistant Director of Institute of Preventive Medicines and unearthed property worth Rs 1.5 crore from his possession. According to ACB Inspector Venkataram, the raids were conducted on the residence of Assistant Director Aaladi Laxminarayana. Simultaneous raids were conducted on the residences of his relatives also. The assets unearthed were two houses and one Commercial complex, 9 open plots, one Swift Dzire vehicle, one Motor cycle, Gold of 53 tolas, cash of Rs 79,860, bank balance of Rs 1,50,000 and one locker with SBH is yet to be opened.
Preliminary investigation showed that the accused officer is involved himself in money lending business and the transactions relating to it are being verified. Investigation found that the disproportionate assets were more than Rs 1.5 crore. He was arrested and produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
