Five killed, 24 injured in separate mishaps Hyderabad, Jan 3 (INN): Five persons were killed and 24 others injured in three separate mishaps that occurred across the state on Monday. Five persons were killed when a State Road Transport Corporation bus collided with a car near Gouraram in Vargal mandal in Medak district on Rajiv Gandhi National Highway. According to police, the victims were travelling in a car when the collision took place. They were killed on the spot. The bodies have been sent to government General Hospital in Medak for post-mortem. The identities of victims are yet to be ascertained.
In another mishap, at least 13 persons were injured when a State Road Transport Corporation bus collided head on with a lorry near Garikipadu check post in Jaggaiahpeta mandal in Krishna district in the early hours of Monday. According to police, all the injured have been shifted to Government Hospital in Vijayawada. The condition of three of the 13 injured is stated to be serious.
In yet another mishap, 11 persons sustained injuries when an RTC bus driver, who lost control over the vehicle, rammed into a roadside tree near Parakala Chalivagu in Warangal district. According to police, all the victims have been shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Warangal. Among the injured, the condition of five is stated to be serious. The victims are said to be belonging to Parakala and Mulugu. Police said the driver lost control on the bus as the steering rod broke.
