Krishnaiah hints at political party for BCs Warangal, Jan 5 (INN): Backward Class Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah on Wednesday hinted that he may possibly launch a political party to fight for the rights of the backward classes. Mr Krishnaiah also demanded that the Centre introduce 50 percent reservation for Backward Classes in elected bodies. Talking to media persons after participating in a programme, the BC leader urged the state government to take an all-party delegation to Centre to prevail upon the issue.
The political awareness in the backward classes could not be created without providing 50 percent reservation in the elected bodies, Mr Krishnaiah pointed out. Criticizing the Congress party for choosing Chief Ministers from the Reddy community always, Mr Krishnaiah said that he was considering setting up a political party for Backward Classes to protect their interests. He said that the decision on launching the new party would be announced before 2014 Assembly elections. The BC leader called upon all backward community people to fight unitedly for getting political power in the state.
