PFA Act to cover entire GHMC now
Hyderabad, Jan 7 (INN): The state government on Friday declared that the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 will be applicable in entire area under the limits of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. This area has now been notified as 'Local Area', in the Act. The Act was earlier applicable only in the areas which had been demarcated as under the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.
According to a GO issued by the Department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare, the PFA Act, 1954, will be applicable in all the areas which come under the GHMC which has been formed after the merging of the 12 Municipalities into the MCH. This has been done to ensure the implementation of the Act in all circles uniformly.
