Mother Express to arrive in state on Jan 11 Hyderabad, Jan 7 (INN): The Indian Railways is running an Exhibition Train named as 'Mother Express' which elucidates the life and services of Mother Teresa as a part of celebrations of her birth centenary. The Mother Express was flagged off by Union Minister of Railways, Mamata Banerjee from Sealdah Railway Station in Kolkata on August 26, 2010. This train, 'Mother Express' is scheduled to halt for exhibition at 83 major Railway Stations across the length and breadth of India during a period of six months.
This Exhibition Train will be on display for public viewing (entry free) on January 11, 2011 at Guntur Railway Station, January 12 and 13 at Vijayawada Railway Station, January 14, 2011 at Khammam Railway Station, January 15 and 16, 2011 at Secunderabad Railway Station and on January 18, 2011 at Kakinada Town Railway Station from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The three air conditioned exhibition coaches showcase the young age of Mother Teresa, her dedication to charity works, founding of 'Missionaries of Charity', her unparalleled philanthropic works to the poorest of the poor including destitutes, orphans, widows, abandoned, sick and dying including lepers and AIDS patients, which earned her the Bharat Ratna Award and Nobel Peace Prize. A visit to the exhibition will be a fitting tribute to Mother Teresa on her birth centenary and surely make a indelible impression in the minds of visitors, young ones and adults alike, on the aspects of upholding human dignity, love and compassion towards the poorest of the poor.
