Guru Gobind Singh Jayanthi procession on Sunday Hyderabad, Jan 8 (INN): As part of the ongoing 345th Prakash Utsav of the last Sikh guru and founder of Khalsa Panth Guru Gobind Singhji Birthday Celebrations, a colourful ''Nagar Keertan'' (holy procession) will be taken out on January 9 from the Central Gurudwara Saheb, Gowliguda,
near Koti at 4.30 PM.
Prabhandak Committee president S Tirlok Singh, vice-president Inderpal Singh and secretary S Satbeer Singh Sandhu said that a mass 'Nagar Keertan' (holy procession) will be taken out on a grand scale on January 9 at around 4.30 PM from the Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda and will pass through Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj, Siddiamber Bazar, M J Market, Jambagh, Putlibowli and will return to Gurudwara Sahib in the evening. Over 20,000 devotees are expected to take part in the procession.
Guru Granth Sahebji (the revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with 'Nishaan Sahebans' (religious flags). The procession will be marked by the rendering of Shabad Keertans (holy hymns) by the Jatha Tera Jatha and Keerthani Jathas of men, women and youths.
Besides, 'Panj Pyaras'' (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of attraction all along the procession. The major attraction of the procession will be the display of `Gatka' a famous Sikh martial art form and other breathtaking sword exercises all along the procession by Dashmesh Kalgidhar Jatha and other special Gatka parties will also exhibit their Gatka skills.
Vishaal Deewan on January 11
AS the main birthday celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh falls on January 11, a 'Vishaal Deewan' (mass congregation) will be held at Central Gurdwara Saheb Gowliguda from 10 AM to 4 PM where some 30,000 Sikh devotees and other community faiths are expected to participate. The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.
Bhai Surinder Singhji (Delhi), Bhai Prem Singhji Bandhu (Delhi), Bhai Hari Singhji and Bhai Nanak Singh Sukhmani Hazuri Ragi Jatha and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite shabad keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus. After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees. Night keertan darbar (night congregation) will be held at Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda on January 10from 9.30 PM to 1.30 AM in which the renowned Ragi Jathas will render keertans and kathas followed by Guru ka Langar.
