Par Panel in city to take stock of food distribution Hyderabad, Feb 10 (INN): A Parliamentary Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution will reach Hyderabad on February 11 to discuss the implementation of some very important steps to ensure food security.
The committee members, consisting of 25 MPs and 5 Officers of Lok Sabha Secretariat, will hold discussions with Chief Secretary SV Prasad regarding the implementation of Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) in the State and the Forward Contract (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2010 at 11.30 AM.
On February 12, at 10 AM, the Committee will hold discussions with representatives of State Trading Corporation (STC) regarding Export and Import of Food grains. At 11 AM the Committee members will hold discussion with representatives of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) regarding warehousing and storage facilities in the State and at 11.45 AM they will meet representatives of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd regarding distribution of kerosene under Public Distribution System in the State.
At 12.30 PM, the Panel members will hold discussion with representatives of Food Corporation of India (FCI) regarding procurement, Storage and Distribution of Food grains.
