TANA's efforts were successful in removing Electronic Locks

Milpitas, CA: American Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials on Wednesday removed electronic monitoring devices from two girl students of Tri Valley University, said Mohan Nannapaneni in a press statement. TANA president Mr. Jayaram Komati with the help of attorney Kalpana Peddhibotla successfully got two girl student's electronic monitoring devices removed. After a lengthy interview by the ICE, where attorney Ms. Peddhibotla represented two students, the ICE freed both the students while the case is under investigation.

The recent probe of US ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement ) and DHS ( Department of Homeland Security) resulted shut down of Tri Valley University of California and further arrest of several foreign students. More than 1500 Indian students, mostly Telugu students were directly affected by this. Some of those students got detained by the ICE were released with electronic monitoring system, which caused them a severe trauma.

TANA has been assisting many of the students from the day one, by providing guidance and legal assistance with generous help of few law firms all over the USA. TANA leadership also sought the intervention of Indian Embassy and Indian Government. They also made representation to the Indian consulates, and the congress representatives.

Mr. Jayaram Komati says 'TANA is the only organization that has been not only closely working with the affected students on a daily basis but also very successful in getting the electronic monitoring removed. We are very thankful to the ICE officials, the attorney and the TANA members that provided physical and financial support all along'.

Mr. Jayaram Komati and former TANA president, Dr. Hanumaiah Bandla also provided financial assistance for this process. TANA thanks attorneys Sheela Murthy, Kalpana Peddhibotla, Aswani Bhakre for their relentless efforts in helping these students all along.

TANA strongly suggests other affected students to seek legal counseling immediately so that their visa status will be protected timely, based upon their individual cases. TANA has been closely working with few law firms that can provide these students an expert level legal assistance.

The details of those law firms, guidelines from Indian Embassy and other communications have been posted on TANA website: www.tana.org
