Non-locals in GHMC should sent back: KCR Hyderabad, Feb 14 (INN): Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday demanded that the state government to throw out all non-local officers working in various departments in Telangana region. Addressing the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) employees gathering at the GHMC head office, KCR displayed his aversion to people from the other two regions of Andhra Pradesh by saying that all non-local officers serving in the Corporation should be shifted.
Pointing out that 12 Additional Commissioners were non-locals, the TRS chief demanded that they should be shifted and instead, local candidates should be appointed in their places. KCR further said that the GHMC must regularize all the contract employees in the GHMC. 'All the 12 additional GHMC commissioner hail from Andhra region they must be transferred to their own places and the local people are appointed in their place,' KCR said.
Addressing the gathering, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, convenor Prof Kondadanaram said that the agitation launched for the sake of formation of separate state would continue till the state is carved out. Telangana NGOs president Swamy Goud hoped that noncooperation agitation against the government would be successful. He said that the GHMC staff are fully prepared to be part of the campaign which is due to commence from February 17.
