Wife refuses money for liquor, man hangs self Hyderabad, Feb 18 (INN): Dejected after his wife refused to give him money to buy liquor, a private employee committed suicide by hanging himself under Jeedimetla police station limits late on Thursday evening. According to Sub-Inspector T Purshottam Rao, P Srinivas (32), a resident of Gandhinagar, Ranga Reddy district took the extreme step after being depressed when his wife refused to give him money to buy liquor.
Srinivas was not reporting to work since the past few days. During this time, he had got addicted to liquor and used to pester his wife for money to buy his drinks. Matters had reached such a stage that he had fallen into the debt trap, leading to his wife to do petty jobs to sustain the family. On Thursday evening, Srinivas had asked his wife for money and she refused despite his pleas. Dejected over the rejection, he locked himself in a room and took the extreme step. Police registered a case under section 174 CRPC
Goods train knocks down labourer
Hyderabad, Feb 18 (INN): A labourer was knock down by a speeding train under the Secunderabad railway police station limits late on Thursday evening. According to Sub Inspector Khader Shareef, Akula Suri (25), a resident of Mahabubnagar district was crossing the railway track near Sanathnagar when he was hit by a goods train. He died on the spot. Police registered a case under section 174 CRPC
Vehicle lifters's gang, solo agent held
Hyderabad, Feb 18 (INN): CCS sleuths on Friday produced a gang of vehicle lifters besides an individual who was accused of lifting automobiles besides snatching chains and cell phones before the media. According to inspector M Suman Kumar, CCS sleuths apprehended Imran (20), a tailor and resident of Vattepally, and Kalander Khan a private employee and a resident of Kishanbagh. Along with these two, Shabaz Ahmed (20) of Vattepally, and Meer Mustafa Ali an auto driver and a resident of Hafez Baba Nagar, were also arrested for indulging in automobile theft.
Based on their confession stolen three four-wheelers and a two wheeler were recovered from them. The value of the stolen vehicles is estimated to be around Rs 4 lakh. In another case, CCS sleuths arrested one man, identified as Jahangeer (26), a resident of Mamidipally Road, Pahadi Shaeef, and recovered two two-wheelers and 15 Cell phones and 1 dagger all worth Rs 75,000. The accused also confessed to having committed 5 gold snatching cases of South Zone area.
