MLC Kola Rajyalakshmi passes away Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): MLC and former Vice-Chancellor of Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) Kola Rajyalakshmi passed away here in the wee hours of Wednesday due to lung cancer. She was 85.
According to reports, the educationist was admitted to Vivekananda Hospital in Somajiguda since the past few days. She died while undergoing treatment for the dreaded disease.
Hailing from Srikalahasti in Chittoor district, the former VC also worked as a secretary for AP Red Cross Society. She was nominated by Governor Rameshwar Thakur for the Legislative Council as an MLC under his quota in 2007.
