CM pays glowing tributes to K Rajyalakshmi Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday paid tributes to departed MLC, K Rajyalakshmi, who died of lung cancer earlier in the day. The Chief Minister visited Dr Rajyalakshmi's residence at Srinagar Colony in Hyderabad and placed a wreath on her body.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy also consoled her husband Dr Venkiah and other family members and conveyed his heartfelt condolences. The Chief Minister lauded the services of late Dr Rajyalakshmi in various fields.
He recalled the services of Dr Rajyalakshmi as an active MLC, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, AP Mahila Congress president; AP Red Cross Society Secretary; Director of Institute of Preventive Medicine; Professor of Osmania Medical College etc.
He said she has done yeomen service to the society in general and women's empowerment in particular. The Chief Minister also recalled her services to the Congress Party as the President of the Mahila Congress. 'In her death we lost a senior and able women's social activist', he said.
