Magsaysay awardee hails SHG movement Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): Honorary Chairman of The Rural Support Programmes in Pakistan and the 1992 Ramon Magsaysay awardee Shoaib Sultan Khan on Wednesday called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at Camp Office.
Mr Shoaib Sultan khan informed the Chief Minister about his experiences while interaction with the SHG group members in Dhone and Orvakallu mandals of Kurnool district and appreciated the support given by the State Government to the SHG movement and the focus upon uplifting the poorest of the poor in the society.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness on the views expressed by Mr Shoaib Sultan Khan and reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to the welfare of the poor. He said that the SHG movement is the appropriate vehicle for women empowerment and poverty alleviation.
