Murder accused kills self in police station Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): A person arrested by Miyapur police in connection with a murder case allegedly attempted suicide inside the police station on Wednesday. He died while undergoing treatment after the police rushed to a hospital in Miyapur later. According to Inspector S Bheem Reddy, Mekala Anjaiah (37),a resident of Isnapur, Patancheru and a car driver by profession was arrested under section 302 and 380 IPC.
He had been accused of having snatched Rs 45,000 from one Sangaiah and pushed the victim from the terrace of Patigram Quarters on January 28, 2011. Anjaiah is believed to have then tried to dispose off Sangaiah's body by throwing it in a nala. He later fled from the spot and was absconding since then. The police was on the lookout for Anjaiah and he was nabbed around 4:30 AM on Wednesday and taken to the Miyapur police station. Around 7:30 AM, Anjaiah told the sentry on duty that he wanted to attend a nature's call. He was taken to the toilet where he opened the tap to fill the bucket present there.
Anjaiah then hanged himself from the ventilator in the toilet with the help of his shirt. The sentry standing guard outside the toilet could not hear what was going on inside due to the noise from the tap covering the sounds. After some time, the sentry tried to push open the door, only to find it locked from inside. He then called the other personnel present and they broke open the door to find Anjaiah hanging. He was rushed to Pranam Hospital, Miyapur in an unconscious state. The doctors there tried to save him, but he died within an hour of his being shifted to hospital. Police registered a case under Section 176 CRPC and the body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.
Auto driver found dead under suspicious circumstances
Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): The body of an auto driver body was found at Pragatinagar Cheruvu under the KPHB police station limits on Wednesday. According to Inspector N Narsimha Reddy, the victim has been identified as Shaik Imran (19), a resident of Yellamma Banda, Kukatpally. Mr Narsimha Reddy revealed that Imran had taken Rs 5,000 from his mother on Tuesday and had not returned home after that. Police registered a case under section 174CRPC (Suspicious death).
