JET USA Competition on the History of Tirumala
New Jersey: Jeeyar Educational Trust (JET) announced a nation-wide competition about the history of Tirumala. Last date for registration is March 14th. The purpose of this competition is to educate everyone about the cultural heritage of Tirumala and Vedic tradition, said JET in a press release.
This competition is open to all and anyone and everyone of all ages can participate. Study materials are available at http://www.jetusa.org/jetusa/home/svm.html
There are 4 categories in the competition:
Category 1: Ages less than 13years
Category 2: Ages 13 - 17years
Category 3: Ages 18 - 34 years
Category 4: Ages 35 years and above.
And there are three stages/rounds of test. First round is an online test. Second round is the Regional finals held at JET Asramam in New Jersey located at 222 Dey Road, Cranbury, NJ. This will be a written test. The top 3 finalists at the regional level will be given prizes and they will proceed to the Nationals. Third round is the national finals which will be held at a central location under the supervision of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.
Important Dates to remember: Register before March 14th. Online test must be taken before March 26th, 2011. Regional finals will be held at the Asramam on April 23rd, 2011. National finals will be held in September 2011. All participants will get a certificate of participation.
