Fire in train, nine suburban services cancelled Hyderabad, March 7 (INN): The South Central Railway on Monday cancelled nine suburban trains as Manoharabad-Secunderabad Suburban Train caught fire between Manoharabad-Medchal at Dabilpur Halt Station. According to SCR officials, three compartments, including the engine of a push-pull train were reduced to ashes in the incident. A short-circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the fire mishap.
The railway police pressed fire tenders into service to douse the rising flames. However, as the fire tenders did not reach the spot on time, three compartments were reduced to ashes. However, there was no casualty or injury to any passenger.
Following the fire mishap, the railways have cancelled nine push pull services in the route causing inconvenience to commuters. The suburban trains cancelled are the Train No 77623 Manoharabad-Secunderabad Suburban Train, Train No 77611 Secunderabad-Manoharabad Suburban Train, Train No 77625 Manoharabad-Secunderabad Suburban Train, Train No 77614 Secunderabad-Bolarum Suburban Train, Train No 77627 Bolarum-Secunderabad Suburban Train, Train No 77615 Sedcunderabad-Medchal Suburban Train, Train No 77629 Medchal ' Secunderabad Suburban Train, Train No 77636 Secunderabad-Lingampalli Suburban Train, Train No 77644 Lingampalli-Secunderabad Suburban Train.
SCR General Manager M S Jayanth, Divisional Railway Manager Margoob Hussain and other senior officials rushed to the spot. The railways have ordered a probe into the incident.
