Water pipeline bursts at Lakshminagar Hyderabad, March 18 (INN): Water from the 1200mm dia water pipeline from the Krishna River to the Prashasan Nagar reservoir burst on Friday, inundating residential areas in Lakshminagar Colony. The overflowing waters from the burst pipeline also effected the vehicular traffic movement on the Attapur Ring Road.
The HMWSSB rushed its personnel to the spot to plug the leak and bring the situation under control.
HMWSSB officials stated that the burst occurred near the Prashsan Nagar pumping main near Laximinagar Junction. The Water board also said that due to the leak, there will be delayed and short supply of water on Saturday, March 19to the areas under Prashasan Nagar reservoir and tail end areas of Lingampally, Hydernagar reservoirs, Sanath nagar, Kukatpally, Qutubullapur Municipal Circles.
Earlier in October 2010, an old water pipeline running from Autonagar to Chilkanagar burst near Uppal RTA, leading to chaos on the roads as the gushing water inundated houses and blocked traffic flow.
