NRIVA kick started arrangements for the National Convention
New Jersey: NRI Vasavi Association (NRIVA) has kick started arrangements for the National Convention to be held in the first week of September in Washington DC Area. NRIVA core committee member and well known Telugu community leader from New Jersey Gangadhar Desu presided a meeting here on Tuesday night. NRIVA President and Founder Anand Garlapati and few core committee members including Suresh Chatakondu, Bhaskar Bupati, Jayakrishna Manda, Rohini Kumar Vemula initiated the arrangements for the national convention in the DC area. Anand Garlapati has requested the New Jersey Vasavi community members to take lead in providing support to the DC Chapter and making the program a huge success.
It is decided that the NRIVA convention will be held from September 3rd till 5th.
Parsi Pandarinath, Administrative officer of Kasi Annasatram attended the program and explained the community service the organisation is doing. He explained how the organisation is able to give Rs. 5.5 crore in the form of interest free loans to the poor students. He said that including himself everybody in the organisation's board is a volunteer and no one will receive a salary.
It is decided that the NRIVA core committee will be meeting in Washington DC during the 1st week of April to visit the venue and to discuss event logistics and other details. Core committee meetings are being planned in other cities in May and June. A team is visiting India in the next few days to personally invite many prominent personalities to the event.
Anand requested all Vasavi chapters to work hard for upcoming Vasavi Jayanthi to make it a grand success. Vasavites believe in Dharmam, Seelam and Ahimsa and follow Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari. Though most of the Vasavi followers are from the Arya Vysya community, many people from other castes also follow Vasavi.
NRIVA is helping around 100 underprivileged students in India and is interested in working with Kasi Annapurna Vasavi Trust as they are doing many educational programs successfully and efficiently. Also discussed with the trust on partnering with them for starting an old-age home and other programs.
Kishor Bupati, Ravi Peddi, Gopi Samudrala, Prashant Chintawar, Guru, Anjaiah, Prasad Kunisetty, Rajesh Todupunuri, Naga Mahender, Sudhakar Parsi also attended the program.
