7 of a family die in auto-lorry collision Hyderabad, March 24: Seven members of a family died after the auto in which they were travelling collided with a speeding lorry at Erlapalli in Chevella mandal, Ranga Reddy district this evening. According to police, nine members of the family, belonging to Chinamangalawaram in Moinabad mandal, were on their way to attend a birthday party in Konapur when a lorry coming from Shankarpally rammed into their vehicle.
Two others who suffered severe injuries were shifted to Chevella hospital and doctors said their condition was serious. Four of the deceased were identified as Venkataiah, Mallaiah, Yadamma, Rajaiah, Ranga Reddy police said. The driver of the lorry, Balaraju, fled from the scene immediately after the accident.
In another incident, three more persons died in the district.
They were travelling on a motorcycle when a DCM van hit them at Kushaiguda in the wee hours of Thursday. Police said that Bhulebai (50), Rajan (40) and Junu (36) were going to their relative's house at ECIL crossroads when the van coming in the opposite direction rammed into their vehicle.
Bhulebhai, mother of Junu, died on the spot while the remaining two died while being shifted to a local hospital. The victims, natives of Warangal district, were residing in Maruti Nagar in Kushaiguda.
