Light showers bring relief to denizens Hyderabad: Denizens reeling under heat wave conditions with soaring day temperatures got some relief yesterday with light showers occurring in the twin cities including Telangana region. Light to moderate showers occurred in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Ramagundam and Medak.
Hyderabad met department officials predicted light showers in the twin cities and in many places in Telangana region in the next few days. At least 1.6 mm rainfall was reported in the twin cities today while the day temperature was reported to be 31.5 degrees Celsius.
S Venkateswara Rao, assistant meteorologist, told that cool nights would prevail in the next few weeks due to cold winds blowing from the east towards Telangana. He said March is considered as the transitory period. During this time, there would be cool condition during the night while the day would be hot with high temperatures. Rao said the cumulonimbus clouds are moving very actively and humidity level had gradually increased.
