'Mobile' betting racket busted Hyderabad, March 31 (INN): The police on Thursday revealed that Task Force sleuths had late on Wednesday arrested three persons who were accepting cricket betting by moving in Innova vehicle fearing of police raids on residences.
The Task Force sleuths seized one Innova Car, a Laptop, five cell phones, net cash of Rs 1.02 lakh and other incriminating materials from their possession. The accused have been identified as Konduri Sekhar (Old Bowenapally), Kosetty Venkat (Ramgopalpet) and Gopal Nagaraj (East Marredpally).
The arrest took place on the receipt of reliable information that the gang was accepting betting in city by moving in car by the North Zone team which identified the vehicle and intercepted them at Bowenpally.
All the accused are doing petty businesses and are facing financial problems. Observing the recent cricket mania among the people, the gang saw an opportunity to make easy money started accepting cricket betting, the police revealed.
Anticipating raids from police that if they accepted bettings in closed rooms, they preferred to accept betting through cell phones by moving in an Innova Car, the police revealed.
