'Siasat' to espouse Telangana cause: Editor Hyderabad, April 2 (INN): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member and Siasat Urdu Daily Editor-in-Chief Zahid Ali Khan on Saturday pledged to dedicate his newspaper for the cause of separate Telangana statehood.
Addressing the gathering at the Open Discussion on the eighth Chapter of the Justice BN Srikrishna Committee Report, Mr Zahid Ali Khan revealed, 'I have dedicated my newspaper for the cause of Telangana movement.'
Mr Zahid Ali Khan also lamented that though there were innumerable media houses, small and large, based in Telangana, very few were actively espousing the cause of a separate state. 'This was inexcusable,' he said. He urged the media to join ranks with the pro-Telangana outfits and ensure that the Centre buckles to the separate statehood demand.
The eminent journalist also opined that smaller states would facilitate ease of governance. 'Smaller stated would mean a faster pace of development, effectively speeding up the overall development of the country,' he stated.
The Open Discussion organized by the All India Minority Advocates Federation (AIMAF) saw widespread criticism against the state government's move to allot the Lanco group a vast chunk of land.
