ACB directed to probe irregularities in HCA Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): A Special Court for Anti-Corruption cases on Thursday directed the Anti Corruption Bureau Director General to probe into irregularities in the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
The ACB Court issued these directions to the Director General following a petition filed by Advocate Ranga Rao seeking a probe into irregularities to the tune of Rs 200 crore which took place during the tenure of HCA vice-president Shivlal Yadav.
The ACB court also directed the Director General to file cases against 22 persons involved in the alleged irregularities in Hyderabad Cricket Association. The Court directed the Director General to submit a comprehensive report on irregularities before May 9.
Earlier, the state government had ordered a departmental inquiry into allegations that funds meant for construction of Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal were misappropriated by the HCA during the term of HCA vice-president Shivlal Yadav. The CCS police had registered a case under section 420 (cheating) and other sections on the alleged irregularities in the association.
