Brutal murder at Kothi hospital Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): The city police on Thursday said that they have taken five persons in custody for the brutal murder which took place earlier in the day near the King Kothi Hospital at Narayanguda. The police said that the five persons have confessed to their role in the murder.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Akun Sabharwal, the arrests were made based on the evidence collected and eye witness accounts.
Earlier in the day, about six persons armed with knives and daggers, assaulted one Syed Sohail, a 28-year-old man and a resident of Masab Tank area on the premises of the King Kothi Hospital at Narayanaguda. Syed Sohail succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Eye witnesses to the incident stated that the deceased had called out the names of some of the attackers. One of his associates, Shaik Ahmed was also accompanying the deceased.
Based on the information, a case under sections 147, 148, 302 read with 149 IPC and 25(1)(A) of the Arms Act was registered at Narayanaguda Police station and investigation taken up.
Scientific aids to investigation were put in to place and clues worked out. Commissioner of Police AK Khan visited the spot and supervised the investigation. The investigation revealed that the murder was a result of a rivalry between two groups over land and monetary matters.
This murder, Dr Sabharwal said, is a sequel to two other offences which have occurred in Rajendra Nagar area in February and July 2010. The deceased was the prime accused in the murder of one Syed Jaffar Hussain which occurred on July 20, 2010 at Himayath Sagar, Rajendranagar.
Syed Jaffar Hussain in turn was the prime accused in the murder of one Syed Haji which took place on February 12, 2010 at Indira Nagar, Rajendranagar. Among the five arrested, Syed Hyder Hussain is said to be the leader of the group and main conspirator.
He is the elder brother of Syed Jaffar Hussain who was killed by the deceased and eight others on July 20, 2010at Himayathsagar tank, Rajendranagar.
The weapons used in the attack, four daggers, three knives and one axe have been seized along with some vehicles. The weapons will be forwarded for forensic study, Dr Sabharwal said. He added that further investigations are on.
