CM seeks day's time to decide on GHMC row
Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday requested the Corporators of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to give him one-day's time to decide on their demand to shift GHMC Commissioner Sameer Sharma to another department.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy told the Corporators who spoke to him on telephone that he needed some time to study their request and think about what action to take. Earlier in the day, a row had broken out between the Corporators and the GHMC officials during a General Council meeting on illegal constructions.
The GHMC Commissioner had then walked out of the meeting in a huff, leaving the Corporators to describe the action as an insult. Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy had then met the Chief Minister and after her meeting, the Corporators had spoken to Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy on the telephone.
