One held for stealing from employer Hyderabad, April 9 (INN): The Shahinayathgunj police on Saturday nabbed a 22-year-old man from Siddiamber Bazar on charges of theft and recovered 31 tolas gold from his possession. This was revealed to media persons by Goshamahal ACP M Venkateshwar Rao who identified the accused as P Sanjeev Kumar, hailing from Anantapur district.
Giving further details, Mr Venkateswar Rao said that Sanjeev Kumar was employed at Nandini Tent house at Hazri Bhavan in Goshamahal for the last two years. His association with the Tent House owners earned him their confidence, the police officer revealed and added that Sanjeev Kumar used to visit the owners' house often on various errands.
However, Sanjeev Kumar hatched a plan to steal the valuables from the house and was looking for a chance to put his plan into action.
On April 3, Sanjeev Kumar found the house locked with the owners leaving to visit some relatives. He gained access inside the house by breaking open the front door and decamped with 13 tolas of gold ornaments and some cash. When the owner of the house returned, he discovered the burglary and registered a case with Shahinayathgunj police.
The needle of suspicion turned to Sanjeev Kumar who had been not reporting for his job. The police kept a lookout for the absconding worker and nabbed him red-handed when he was in the process of selling the gold ornaments. Further investigations are on.
