Sangareddy tense, after clash over religious flags Hyderabad, April 20 (INN): Tension prevailed at Indra Colony in Sangareddy of Medak district after members of one community objected to removing religious flags hoisted by them by members of another community on Wednesday.
The violence which followed left two persons injured, according to reports which are coming in. According to the details, the situation turned violent when a vegetable seller tried to remove the religious flags hoisted by members of another community some weeks ago.
Two youths objected to the alleged disrespect and an argument had started. The vegetable seller soon returned back to the area along with about a score of his community members and is said to have attacked the two youths. As the news spread, the violence spread quickly.
The police soon rushed to the spot and resorted to lathi-charge to chase away the members of the two communities, managing to gain control over the situation. However some people said that the Inspector Muttaiah was showing discrimination and had ignored indications that the situation would get out of hand.
