City roads to get facelift Hyderabad, April 20 (INN): Almost all main roads in the city and to the adjoining colonies are being repaired, re-carpeted and black-topped under the Chief Minister's 100 days action plan. Much of these works are already completed and some of the works are in progress and will be completed in a few days time.
The Chief Minister said good and motorable roads are the lifeline of development. He also wanted the officials to take care of the footpaths (walkways) to be cleared of all encroachments so that pedestrians can make use of it.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the '100 Days Action Plan' with the officials concerned recently. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) along with R and B, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) have taken up road repairing works coming under their purview and are completing the jobs.
The Chief Minister also wanted the Outer Ring Road works to be completed on a war footing since this will be a boon not only to the city but also to the adjoining districts and will improve connectivity to National Highways.
He said once all the radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road is completed, it will be a big achievement for a metropolitan city like Hyderabad and will also east the traffic congestion inside the city. Under the Outer Ring Road Project, stretch from Pedda Amberpet to Gachibowli is completed and opened for traffic from March 1, 2011.
The stretch from Narsingi to Patancheru would be completed by 31st May 2011 and the remaining works are under progress including radial roads. Officials explained that radial road No 3 from Nanalnagar junction to Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA) in Vikarabad road, radial road no 4 from Cantonment 'Y' junction to Narsingi 'X' road (Gandipet road), radial road no 28 from Pahadisharif Police Station to Tukkuguda (Srisailam road) and from Bairamguda to Bongalur gate (Nagarjunasagar road) are all completed.
The officials said with the completion of ramps at Hyderguda, Aramgarh and Laxmingar on the PVNR Expressway are now complete, it will give a smooth riding to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad and will reduce the traffic congestion in the city and also save the passengers time to and fro the international airport.

Special and emergent repairs to Hyderabad - Moulali road (in appropriate reaches) in Rangareddy District; Mirzalaguda - Neredmet road, Thirumalagiri-Moulali Road; Secunderabad - Kukatpally road; Special Repairs to Intermediate Ring Road District; Emergent Repairs to Hyderabad - Nagrjunasagar Road; IDA Nacharam Road, all in Ranga Reddy District; Bahadurpally - Kompally Road in Rangareddy District; Special Repairs to Inner Ring Road; Emergent Repairs to Inner Ring Road (in appropriate reaches) in Rangareddy District; Emergent Repairs to NFCL Junction to Jubilee Hills Check Post Road, KBR Park surrounding (in appropriate reaches) in Rangareddy District and Emergent Repairs to Intermediate Ring Road in Rangareddy District, works in several stretches of all these roads are completed.
Special Repairs to Miralam - Himayathsagar Road in GHMC limits; Uttamnagar - ZTC Road (in appropriate reaches) in Rangareddy District and Emergent Repairs to Intermediate Ring Road (in appropriate reaches) in Rangareddy District -all these works are in progress.
