Cool water containers for traffic cops
Hyderabad, April 21 (INN): The on-duty traffic police personnel will henceforth not need to hop into a roadside caf' to quench their thirst as the department will arm them with a one-litre water bottle.
The specially designed and insulated container can keep the water cool for six hours even in extreme heat, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) CV Anand on Thursday. The container will be stamped with the department's logo and would be issued as part of the kit items of Traffic Personnel for two years.
Apart from the cool water container, the traffic police personnel are being provided with special dark glasses to prevent damage to the eyes to protect them from ultraviolet rays and also offer protection from dust and heat. Apart from this, a disposable nose mask is being supplied each day, Mr Anand said.
Besides this, it was also decided to supply Glucose regularly during the summer to maintain salt and glucose levels of the traffic policemen, he said. The traffic police personnel will also be allowed special summer allowance of Rs 200 per month for April and May.
