Ancient stone idol stolen from temple Hyderabad, April 22 (INN): An ancient stone idol of Goddess Durga was stolen by unidentified miscreants from a temple in the city late on Thursday night. According to Hussaini Alam Inspector J Venkat Reddy, the ancient idol was found missing on Friday morning by the priest when came to open the temple at Purana-pul.
Meanwhile, some devotees too had arrived to worship and they made their way to the police station to lodge a complaint. Mr Venkat Reddy said that it is believed that the thieves may be regular visitors to the temple since they had been familiar with the layout of the place of worship.
Later a complaint of idol theft was registered by the Hussaini Alam Police and further investigations are on.
