Auto driver bludgeons owner to death Hyderabad, April 23 (INN): Insistence on paying of the rental charges for the auto-rickshaw he used to let out cost a man his life at the hands of a rowdy sheeter under Langar Houz police station limits late on Friday night.
According to Langer Houz Inspector G Sridhar, 28-year-old Imran Khan, a resident of Mustaidpura in Karwan used to let out his fleet of auto-rickshaws to drivers at a daily rental. Among his auto-rickshaw tenants, was a rowdy sheeter Ghulam Nabi.
Mr Sridhar told INN that Ghulam Nabi was not paying the daily rental on the auto-rickshaw for some time, even as Imran kept on demanding payment. Late on Friday night, Imran was invited by the auto driver to meet him at Langar Houz so that he would return the auto-rickshaw and the rentals due.
The auto-rickshaw owner went to meet Ghulam Nabi who was waiting for Imran along with his friends Tipu and Shahid. An argument ensued after Ghulam Nabi refused to return the auto-rickshaw and pay back the money.
It is believed that Ghulam Nabi smashed Imran's head with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. He and his associates immediately fled the spot. The police were notified of Imran's body lying beside a soft drink company and they took up investigations. A manhunt has been launched to nab the suspects.
