Two notorious vehicle lifters nabbed Hyderabad, April 23 (INN): Sanjiva Reddy Nagar police on Friday arrested two notorious vehicle lifters , and recovered 29 motor cycles worth Rs 15 lakh from their possession. According to Detective Inspector K Kishore Kumar, the accused have been identified as P Balakrishna (29) and Shaik Khaja Hussain (25) both residents of Film Nagar in Hyderabad.
They were caught late on Friday night when they were travelling on a motorcycle under suspicious circumstance at Kalyan Nagar Crossroads. The police stopped them during their routine checking operations and took them into custody after they failed to give satisfactory answers over the ownership of the motorcycle being used by them.
The accused persons confessed that they used to chance upon the vehicles parked in front of business establishments and other places and use to steal them by using fake keys. They also revealed that they committed most of the offences during night hours.
They also confessed that have indulged in theft of 29 motor cycles from various places in SR Nagar, Sanathnagar, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills PS limits since December 2010.
At the instance of the accused persons all the vehicles were recovered by police persons. Out of 29 vehicles they have stolen, 14 vehicles are unclaimed. The police also revealed that P Balakrishna had been sent to jail earlier in a murder case. The case is under investigation.
