ACB raids Bank manager, DA worth Rs 1.94 cr seized Hyderabad, April 26 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Tuesday conducted raids on the residence of the Manager of Adilabad Agricultural Co-operative Bank and unearthed property worth Rs 1.94 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to ACB Inspector Prabhakar, the accused officer Goverdhan (48), a resident of Sai Colony, Karmanghat, is the manager of the Bank's Adilabad branch.
Earlier, a complaint had been registered against Goverdhan alleging that he possesses ill-gotten properties, following which simultaneous raids were conducted on the residences of accused officer and his relatives. ACB Joint Director K Sampath Kumar headed the raiding team, it is learnt.
The ACB sleuths discovered that the tainted official is the owner of a house in Hyderabad, a flat, six house plots, 54 acres of agricultural land in Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts, gold weighing about 19 tolas, Rs 3 lakh in cash, Rs 13 lakh as bank balance and LIC and other investments worth Rs 15 lakh, all valued at Rs 1.94 crore. The market value of the seized assets is expected to be sizably more. The accused officer has been taken into custody and sent for judicial remand. Case is under investigations.
