JNTU (H) exam scam busted, 8 held Hyderabad, April 26 (INN): Task Force sleuths on Tuesday apprehended four outsourcing employees and four Engineering students of JNTU Hyderabad Examination Branch for examination malpractices and seized Rs 3.45 lakh, 17 answer sheets, eight cell phones and a motorcycle from their possession.
The police said that the arrested accused have been identified as Shaik Abdul Malik (22), Vudhturi Nagarjuna Reddy (22), Lakkasani Sarat Chandra (22) and Bezawada Sai Bharath (21), engineering students of a college affiliated to the JNTU and Devarajula Parshuram (24), Munigonda Narender (24), Banoth Bheemudu (22) and Banoth Mangilal (25). The latter four persons are the employees of the JNTU.
The police further revealed that the engineering students used to collect the Answer Booklets of B-Tech 2nd and 3rd years from the JNTU affiliated Engineering Colleges by colluding with JNTU outsourcing employees and return the Answer booklets after rewriting B-Tech Exam at home and collecting huge amount.
The police arrested the accused near Sri Sai Durga Boys Hostel in SR Nagar while they were receiving and handing over the Answer Booklets. The arrested accused persons along with seized material were handed over to the Station House Officer SR Nagar PS for further action.
