Three rowdy sheeters held for 'protecting' disputed land Hyderabad, April 26 (INN): Task Force sleuths early on Tuesday apprehended three notorious rowdy sheeters and seized three daggers and a motorcycle from their possession for attempting to provide unlawful 'protection' to one group in a land dispute.
According to South zone Task force Inspector S Mohan Kumar, the accused have been identified as Sheik Mahmood (38), Sheik Afsar (28) and Mohammed Jaffer (30).
During interrogation, the accused confessed that the one Syed Yahiya had contacted notorious rowdy sheeter Gora Mahmood and told him to arrange some anti-social elements to protect a plot of 1800 square yards of land located abutting the Grand Season Hotel on Shivam Road. Yahiya's close relative has been claiming ownership of the land.
Following the request, Gora Mahamood engaged two notorious rowdy sheeters Khaiser and Afsar and another anti-social element Jaffer to provide 'protection' to the land by sitting there with deadly weapons. This was designed to instill a sense of fear in the other claimants of the land's ownership, who have lodged a civil suit.
Apart from this, rowdy sheeter Afsar had stolen a bike from the premises of Nampally Civil Court and was moving on the stolen vehicle. The arrested accused persons along with seized material were handed over to SHO Amberpet Police Station for necessary action.
