Qutubullapur tax collector in ACB Net Hyderabad, April 28 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Thursday caught the Qutubullapur tax Collector red-handed when he demanded and accepted Rs 20,000 from a person for doing an official favour.
ACB officials identified the accused as B Ramaiah (43). Ramaiah was employed as a property tax collector in Jagadgiri Gutta, Qutubullapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.
He was caught red handed by the ACB officials when he demanded and accepted Rs 20,000 as bribe from a person for doing an official favour of collecting property tax on the renovated building of the complainant at old rates.
The tainted amount of Rs 20,000 was recovered from Ramaiah at his instance. Fingers on both hands of the accused officer yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test.
The accused officer Ramaiah is being arrested and will be produced before the Honorable Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.
