Agri Asst Director raided, DA over Rs 2 cr found Hyderabad, April 29 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Friday conducted raids on the residence of the Yalamanchili Agricultural Department Assistant Director and unearthed property disproportionate to his known sources of income worth Rs 2 crore.
According to ACB Inspector BVS Nageswara Rao, the accused officer V Prasad (54), a resident of Narsipatnam, is the assistant director in Yallamanchili Agricultural department. Earlier, a complaint had been registered against Prasad that he possesses ill-gotten properties, following which simultaneous raids were conducted on the residences of accused officer and his relatives.
The ACB sleuths unearthed disproportionate assets like 20 acres of agricultural land, two flats, 11 house plots, three houses, gold worth Rs 6 lakh, silver worth Rs 1 lakh, Rs 4 lakh in cash, Rs 3.5 lakh as bank balance, three cashew industries, two lorries, two trucks, car, cashew stock worth Rs 70 lakh and LIC policies worth Rs 12 lakh, all valued at Rs 2 crore. The market value of the seized assets is expected to be sizably more.
The accused officer has been taken into custody and sent for judicial remand. Case is under investigation.
