Three die in separate road mishaps Hyderabad, May 1 (INN): At least three persons were killed on spot, while another three persons were left injured in separate road accidents in Krishna and Prakasam districts, early on Sunday.
In the first incident, at least two persons were killed on spot and another injured in a road accident which occurred at Madalavarigudem village, Gannavarm mandal in Vijayawada.
According to Sub-Inspector Sridhar Kumar, the victims were identified as T Srinivas Rao (22) and Devarakonda Venkateshwar Rao (25). They died on the spot while another person suffered minor injuries.
The mishap occurred when an auto-rickshaw in which the victims were travelling was hit by a Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus. The bus was proceeding towards Nuzuvid from Vijayawada while the auto-rickshaw was coming from the opposite direction.
In another mishap which occurred in Ongole, one person was killed while another two persons suffered injuries when a speeding lorry ran into another from behind on the National Highway 5, near Muppavaram village, J Pangaluru mandal in Prakasam district.
According to Sub-Inspector Anka Babu, Nelakantam Suresh Reddy (34), a resident of Nellore was killed on the spot and two others were left with minor injuries in the accident.
Mr Babu further revealed that the mishap occurred when lorry driver Suresh Reddy lost control over his speeding vehicle and rammed into a slow moving lorry from behind. The impact left him dead on the spot.
Police reached the spot on getting information and shifted victims to government hospital for autopsies. Cases have been registered in respective police stations and further investigations are on.
