Debt ridden man poisons wife, children Hyderabad, May 2 (INN): Acute financial crisis is believed to have driven a man to poison his wife and her two children at Vaidehi Nagar, Vanasthalipuram in Ranga Reddy district.
Unable to bear frustration due to financial crisis, a person given poison to his wife and children Vaishanavi (5) and Shashank (7). The bodies of Srivani and her two children were discovered from the residence of Koteswar Rao at Vaidehi Nagar on Monday morning, after neighbours alerted the police over the foul smell emanating from it.
The police broke into the house to discover the ghastly sight of the three bodies, believed to have been poisoned by Koteswar Rao. He is missing and efforts are on to trace him. Vanasthalipuram Inspector Ravindra Reddy said that Koteswar Rao may have fed his family poison-laced food on Friday, since none of the family members had been sighted after that day.
A letter, believed to be written by Koteswar Rao said that he was heavily in debt and had no option but to resort to the drastic step since he could no longer take care of his wife and children. Koteswara Rao also added in the letter that he would commit suicide. Police shifted the bodies to a government hospital for autopsies.
