Pseudo Naxals nabbed in Khammam Khammam, May 2 (INN): District police on Monday nabbed eight persons who were posing as Naxalites for extorting money from the people. According to Tekulapalli Sub-Inspector the police nabbed two gangs at Suryathanda, Rajuthanda, Danthelathanda under Tekulapalli PS limits, and another gang in Bayyaram (G), Karepalli and Yellandu. The gangs have been active in the area since the past one-and-a-half months.
The first gang was apprehended when the Tekulapalli party were patrolling at Tadikalapudi Railway Station on Sunday evening when they saw a group moving in suspicious circumstances. The police chased and managed to catch them.
These men were identified as Alem Sammaiah alias Jogaiah, Jabba Sathyam alias Sathenna, Maloth Sarvan alias Siva kumar, Banoth Gattu alias Ramu, Koarra Rama, and Guguloth Deva. The gang had managed to obtain a country made rifle and had then ganged up to extort money from contractors, businessmen and the common man.
As per their plan, they extorted money and silver anklets from the people on point of fire arm at Suryathanda, at Rajuthanda and at Danthelathanda. Similarly they extorted money from Sujathanagar petrol bunk and at Puligandla of Kothagudem mandal.
The police seized Rs 73,900 in cash, 1 country made tapancha, 1 toy pistol, 60 ordinary detonators, 4 cell phones and 1 pair of silver anklets. Similarly two members of the gang were apprehended from Bayyaram (G), Karepalli and Yellandu area on May 1 at about 3 PM, during vehicle checking.
These two were identified as Cheemala Veerabhadram and Easam Kiran Kumar. A pistol, a revolver and 41-live rounds of 8mm rifle, 7-live rounds of 12 bore gun, 2 cell phones, one motor cycle and Rs 9,500 in cash was seized from them.
