Four attempt suicide, 2 die Hyderabad, May 3 (INN): Two of the four persons who attempted suicide in the city on Monday night died while two are said to be in a critical condition on Tuesday.
In the first incident, Jeedimetla Inspector Sanjeev Rao said that Manikyam (55) and son his Ramesh (22), residents of Jagathgirigutta attempted suicide due to acute financial problems.
Late on Monday night, the father and son poured kerosene and set themselves ablaze at their residence. Neighbours however rushed them to Gandhi Hospital where Manikyam died while being given treatment. Ramesh is said to be in a critical condition.
In another incident, a couple attempted suicide by consuming poison after being vexed with ill health and financial problems at Jaipuri Colony, LB Nagar, late on Monday night.
According to Sub-Inspector Balraju, Santosh (33) along with his wife Sunitha (30), resorted to the extreme step after their problems kept mounting. The couple were discovered writhing in pain by their neighbours who shifted them to Gandhi Hospital.
The doctors declared that Santosh was dead on arrival. They are battling to save Sunita's life. Her condition is stated to be critical. Police registered cases in respective police station after sending bodies for autopsies. Further investigations are on.
